“Love”

I can’t stand how Hollywood makes love out to be all mushy, sweet and well, loving, because we all know that’s not the case, love is difficult, sometimes callus and requires a ton of hard work.

Love may get you into relationships, but it is not the glue that keeps them together, it is only the dessert, not the meal itself, and if you eat too much of the sweet stuff and avoid the good food you will get sick and die.

You need substance, you need dedication and you need a whole lot of common sense, because without these things you will have nothing more than a house of cards in a hurricane.

There is nothing wrong with having your heart by your side when you’re in a relationship, but you can’t let it eclipse your brain and keep you from thinking straight.

We need to stop thinking like the Tin Man, and start thinking the like Scarecrow, because it is not a heart that we need to be successful in relationships, but rather a brain.

Love is nothing more than an adult version of Santa Claus, it’s a made up thing to help us feel better about ourselves and the emotions we feel when we come across our so-called “soul mate”.

So the next time you find yourself on a love trip, take a step back and reevaluate the situation, and make sure that you didn't forget to pack your brain.

Forget marijuana, love is the gateway drug, the gateway to stupidity that is, so say no to love, and yes to thinking.

  3. Interesting thoughts but Heart wants what the heart wants. I am still laughing at the picture.

    1. The heart may know what it wants, but not what it needs.

  4. I think friendship's the key. Thirty-three years ago I entered into a relationship with my best friend; we're still going strong today!

    1. Smart, I like it, you're actually using your brain for something other than a hat rack.

  5. There's no such thing as a "soulmate", just people we can live with without killing them.
